(3) Nothing in the foregoing provisions of this sectio shall apply to the employment of children upon work approved and supervised by the Department of Education carried on in any school or training establishment.
17. No child shall be employed in any form of employment in
any circumstances or under any conditions which may be prohibited by the Governmor in Council from time to time by rules under this.. Ordinance.
18. any person who employs a child in contravention of the
provisions of this section or of any rules made under this Ordinance and any parent or guardian who knowlingly or negligently suffers or permits such employment shell be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or to imprison- ment for term which may extend to three months or to both such fine end imprisonment.
19. (1) If it should be shown to the satisfaction of the
Governor in Council upon the application of the Commissioner and after such enquiry as the Governor in Council may think fit to direct, that the wages of children employed in any type of employment or in any area are insufficient he ving regard to the nature of the work and the conditions of employment, it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to prescribe by order minimum rates of wages to be paid to children in that type of employment or area and the same shall be enforced as if it were an award sanctioned by the Trace Board Ordinance No.15 of 1940.
(2) Any such order shall be published in the Gazette and shall have effect from the date of publication unless some other date is named therein.
20. Any person contravering the provisions of any order made under Section 19 shall be guilty of an olrence and shali be liable to & rine of one thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.
21. No person shall be required to perform forced labour of
any kind.
22. In all places of employment where ten or more workers
are employed a wage rate notification shall be exhibite in some conspicuous place at such place of employment indicating the minimum wage rates payable in respect of each class or grade of worker employed.
Abstract of 23. labour laws.
(1) Every employer who employs not less than ten workers of the Chinese race shall affix and exhibit continuously at the place of employment, an abstract of the labour laws of the Colony in Chinese characters.

(2) The Commissioner shall cause to be prepared print copies of the said abstract in both the English and Chinese languages and these shall be supplied free of charge, on application, to such employers as are referred to in sub-section (1).
